Well it had to happen... A **Magic Muslim** movie...

This film has astonishing sweep and scope, but comes back down to the people involved. Dench as the Queen is regal as always. Eddie Izzard as her son is dastardly and despicable. Fazal as Abdul is the unknown quantity, revelations about whom are surprising to the end. Director Stephen Frears knows how to tell a story, and manages to infuse this one with brilliant humor and gripping humanity.

As fiction, it was passable. As history, it's laughable. As social justice commentary, it's exactly what one would expect.

bleh... technically it is not a poorly made film, but i do not get why they laud this sort of history.

A movie laced with propaganda and lies. If you're looking to convert to Muslim-this movie will be a joy to you.

Sweet and entertaining historical drama that also has some nice touches of humour too. Lovely Dame Judi Dench gives a heartwarming performance as Queen Victoria. In fact the whole cast is great. Perhaps the movie could of been a little braver, as the issues of racism and exclusion are a little downplayed, but overall it's a nice watch. And veddy veddy British....

I didnt hear Britain complaining when 800.000 muslims went to war against the Nazi's as part of India's huge army. They literally threw Britain a life line...Lest We forget...clearly some bigots have...

What an astonishing, beautiful and profound rendition of Victoria played by Dame Judy Dench, one of my favourite actresses. A lovely insight into the frailty of an old queen.

The artistic weaponized attack upon history itself is beyond despairing. Only Judi Dench makes it watchable until you recall she's great friends with Harvey Weistein, so much so she had a temp tattoo on her butt to honor him. Ick.

It’s a lovely movie. I like Mrs. Brown better, but you can watch it and then this one back to back and it’s like a beautiful two-part miniseries. Judy is marvellous.

...the story is poignant at the end of Victoria's life, and makes it movie-worthy. Its funny, a bit edgy in places, and I thought, delicious consumption on a Friday night.

Based on a book with the same title by Shrabani Basu, the story is based on a real life relationship between Queen Victoria and her Indian Muslim servant Abdul Karim. It is a very charming and sweet film, which I thought to be fantasy until I read more about it. Considering all of the political implications, it is amazing to me that it is true.

the movie was splendid but since it was talking about a MUSLIM GUY it will get that lowest rate SO THEY DON'T ADVERT MUSLIM "THINGS" though the story+the way they produced the movie was REALLY AMAZING !! comparing to other documentary that sometimes would boring and has a lack of creativity. ANYWAY>>> ***If you love Doc. movies that has an interesting story that would be perfectly for you *** ENJOY !!

This film surprised me, I initially put it on expecting to be turned off in the first 10 minutes, but I was not. I finished it, building evermore interest into the main characters, so much so that I researched their story AFTER the movie, and it was an interesting read when noticing the differences between reality and hollywood. Nonetheless, it was so interested that I read many published works about the story. 8/10

The Queen's Guard would have never allowed that unsavory character anywhere near the Queen. Just more politically correct fiction.
