Perfect remake which is rare in the sea of many Hollywood remakes. I'm a huge fan of Tim Curry who did very well as Pennywise, but Bill Skarsgard really brought the evil out of him. The new Victorian clown costume stands out and that smile/mouth was crazy. The darker tone, special effects and the casting of the kids was a big improvement. Has a more Stranger Things vibe and I say that knowing the main kid in that series plays Richie. Also, funny that It appears every 27 years to attack the town and the miniseries aired 27 years ago. Saw this in theaters and happily watching it again here. If you watch "you'll float too!"

I saw IT in the theater and I can hands down say that this film is by far the best horrorflick that I´ve seen in years! I always found clowns a bit creepy, but Pennywise is far beyond petty creepyness! He´s the stuff nightmares are made from, and Bill Skarsgård does an excellent job of portraying him! The kids portraying `The losers´ also did an excellent job acting, and I´m really impressed by them. 5/5 wellearned stars from me!

In my opinion, it falls short of the original. No one can touch Tim Curry on the creepy factor but, with that being said, it was not an bad movie. It was well made, just not as good as the original.

This movie is so friggin "meta".... In the film, "It" reawakens every 27 years to terrorize/hunt the children of the town. The original mini-series aired.........27 years ago.

The fact everyone seems to have already seen this at the cinema (I did too) tells us at least that the promotional campaign has been exceptional. The movie itself I thought was very good for a modern day horror. Sadly we have to face facts and accept that as adults we are not going to be 'scared' by a movie. Something being particularly gruesome or gory isn't scary, just maybe shocking if done effectively. Jump scares (of which there are only one or two in this) are the lowest form of horror movie device and all they do is make you jump. You were surprised but never scared. The best you can expect is for some particularly nightmarish scenarios and characters and to be on the edge of your seat. This delivered in that respect I think. There was of course the scene with the frames shooting in closer and closer to reveal what was in the tree in the material the fat kid was reading in the library. That was pretty creepy. Creepy is good.

It was an okay remake ... a decent flick ... but it's in no way deserving of all the praise being heaped upon it. That speaks more to the rest of the shit released lately than anything. Watch Babadook. That's a solid and original film.

Well worth seeing in the theatre just like everyone is commenting! The acting was very well done and the movie squashed the stereotypical belief that most remakes should not be attempted! It seems Hollywood is definitely into remakes this year and now I am excited to see more, especially if they are like this one! I definitely recommend dropping by your closest theatre and make a night of it, enjoy!

After a lot of people saying the original TV version was better I just rewatched it after many years, and I have to say it was total and utter dogshit. I remembered it as being good but the acting is really, really bad. Even for a TV movie. Seriously if you disagree go and watch 20 minutes of it; if you still think it's better than this then...wow.

5/5 great movie. There's nothing to review - perfect story with oustanding performance. Maybe a little bit too 1:1 to first version. 'cause we all love 80's :)

I loved this in theaters. Easily one of the more decent & developed horror films to come out of recent times. Not good solely for being scary, as it's not that frightening, but the story itself was thrilling. It's a more faithful adaptation of the source material so you get to see a lot of what's only ever been implied until now. 4.5/5

GO SEE IN THEATRES AMAZING MOVIE!!

Saw in theatres. Bill Skarsgard does the roll of Pennyworth justice ( you really feel him more so an alien trying to appear as a clown with human qualities but coming off as severely creepy instead), though I prefer the original dialogue of Tim Curry best and where he plays a much more formal clown (YOU'LL FLOAT TOO!). The kids did a great job but I still prefer the old kids on the block ( Who can beat a young Seth Green?) it didn't feel as drawn out as the original as it being only slightly longer than 2 hours long rather than 3. And in the second installment is when I think they will jump 27 years ahead and have adult actors ( Yes it's 27 now and not 30). There were some exceptionally terrifying moments for sure ( Someone actually near here died in the theatre from a heart attack while watching it) it is one of the better films of 2017, best horror/Thriller in my books and i would suggest watching it on the big sceen for this one :) Enjoy

Not bad for a remake. The clown didn't have much personality in this one, Just your generic killer movie monster.. But overall not bad. 3.5/5

Loved the original and watched it several times as a kid. I went to see this one in theaters and am really happy with how well done it is, and that Mr. King didn't let them butcher one of his classics. Creepy, very well acted from the kids, and entertaining all the way through. Looking forward to the sequel!

Very very cool movie. Whether you've read the book or seen the miniseries or not, this is easily worth a watch or 2.

If you're a real fan of the source material, I fail to see how you couldn't enjoy this movie. It's nice to finally have a legitimately terrifying adaptation of one of the landmark horror stories of the 20th century. I would have enjoyed a little more character exposition, but it's hardly enough to drag the movie down. And while I loved Tim Curry's original performance, as well as the accurate setting and little nods to the novel, the miniseries barely qualified as horror when it was released, and even less so now. This is an excellent adaptation and I'd really recommend watching it in the theater first.
